YEAR 51 - FEELS MORE LIKE AREA 51

In January 2020, I turned 50.  What I looked for to be my best year ever after surviving half a century turned into a year of firsts, tears, sadness, but also a year with some light in it.

I had the worst flu I have ever had, which I am not altogether sure that it wasn't Covid since it was not in public view yet.  I lost an Aunt and an Uncle in 2020, and saw my Mom more devastated by this than I have ever seen her, including during her 4 bouts with cancer.  I saw family in Louisiana that I have not seen in years, and felt an underlying peace spending time with them.  I guess when you aren't around it, you don't realize what you are missing.

I got the best job I have ever had last year, and I thank God every day for that high point in the worst year of my life (along with seeing my family).  The company is out of Chicago, and knows that paying your employees a decent wage is a necessity.  Hey Pensacola, you need to take a lesson from Chicago!

I lost friends, have friends who lost parents and family members...all because of this horrible pandemic.  I truly have seen things that I never saw before in my 50 years on this Earth.  I never expected that walking through a store like Target, I would see an accesory rack not with scarves, jewelry, or gloves, but with face masks in all colors and designs.

I won't even go into political happenings.  This country is way too divided as it is.

I guess, for now, let me just summarize what I've learned.  Love yourself.  Love one another.  If you can't love someone, then walk away and let it go...don't turn to social media to trash them.  Be a human being, and live with peace and love in your heart.  Let respect and a smile be your sword and shield.  I feel like in my 50 (now 51) years there are many choices that I made that could have been different, but I have no regrets because those choices brought me here and made me who I am today.

Everybody say LOVE!!!!!

Thank you for reading my rant...lol

Living and Learning - A New Year of Hope

Over the course of 2016, I've loved, lost, and gained.  I am so thankful for the new family and friends I have made, and for the lessons I have learned.

One of the biggest lessons I've learned is to look for the best in everyone, but don't be overly optimistic.  There is good in everyone, but sometimes it takes a lot of digging to get down to it.  If someone continues to find reasons to do or not do something, then there is hidden truth that, in time, will surface.  It is up to you whether to accept these hidden truths, or to cut your losses and move on.  I like to think I would accept them in most cases, but when it comes to love and relationships, I cut my losses in 2016.  My reason for this is that once trust is broken, it is very hard to restore.

When it comes to my family, my feelings are bittersweet.  My SL family is beautiful and amazing, but unfortunately doesn't always focus on the things that truly matter.  A building or a land parcel may be great, but family is so much more important.  I hope that this becomes evident to my family and that 2017 will have a lot of times to enjoy like the early 2016 ones we had.

I hope you all have an amazing 2017, and I look forward to enjoying and sharing what it holds with all of you!

Love & Light,

DJ Viktor Richard Sandman

P.S.  And, by the way, I added Richard to my name because it is my SL Daddy's last name (Alexander Richard).

I'm Not Sure How to Deal with a Ghost

I just don't know what to do.  I've never been in this situation before, and not sure if it's worth trying to stick it out.  I'm in a relationship, sort of, but feel like the 'other man'.  The sad part is, the one that my partner spends more time thinking of has been dead for about 3 years or so.  I don't know how to deal with a ghost in the relationship.  My heart's been broken several times, and the duct tape doesn't seem to be working anymore.

A Truly Amazing Birthday, and More!!!

Today is my birthday!  Yes, big number 46!  I had the most wonderful day yesterday thanks to my sweet beautiful SL hubby JJ and my beautiful soul twin Belle (as well as everyone who helped them hide it from me...you little stinkers).  I love you all so very much.  You make my life so happy and full, and you have no idea how much you all mean to me!  I love you all very much!!

Another truly amazing event happened yesterday!  JJ and I partnered in SL, and on FB!!!  It was so amazing to be surrounded by loved ones and have the man you love want to become your other half.  I love you baby, always and forever!!!  xoxoxo

POST #2: Your Trash Is Someone's Treasure

In my opinion, every breakup has an unseen version...the one that is the reality.  Knowing all of the people I do in SL, I find that there are versions from all parties involved, then the one that includes bits of all of those versions, plus the real facts.

Letting go of someone means just that...letting go.  Move on and find your happiness, and let them find theirs as well.  If you can't say something nice, then shut the fuck up!  How hard is that to learn?  Most of us learned it as children, and, unless you never grew up, you should remember this.

Just sayin'!

Post Number One - What the hell am I doing?

I'm not quite sure where this blog will go, but I look forward to the journey.  So many days I have thoughts running through my head and let them go without examining them.  I guess maybe this will be the 'examination' room for those thoughts.

If there's something you'd like to know, or want my opinion on, or whatever, feel free to leave me a post here, or hit me up on Facebook!  I'd love to make this as interactive as possible!

I suggest you sit back, relax, order a cocktail, and enjoy the ride.  Oh yeah, you might want to fasten your seatbelt because this sucker may get bumpy at times!

Happy new year 2016 to you all, and see you soon!
